Victoria Abena Keta Biography
Victoria Abena Keta is a painter with a passion for creating vibrant and unique pieces of art. She has been attracted to art since her childhood. The desire to express herself through art has given her peace of mind, joy, and the ability to explore freely. Her painting style is a blend of realism and abstract, with a focus on bold colours, distortion and shapes. She has a deep appreciation for life, and she is drawn to the wisdom of older people, experience, and the opportunity to be better. Her work seeks to task the viewer to be the best they can in support of themselves and humanity. For years Keta has been asking numerous life questions seeking to understand its ways.
This and her evolving nature are what she brings to her creative
projects. Over the years she has developed a style that combines traditional
techniques with modern elements. She is
a master of color and texture, and her work has been featured in exhibitions
and collected privately. Victoria is open minded and is ready to travel the
path of creative exploration for the fun of it. She is constantly striving to learn
from life and her experiences, which shows in her art.
“So Many Petals To Go” is her first virtual and her fourth solo
exhibition. Among some of her exhibitions are a group exhibition at the Marina
Mall and the National Theater in 2014, mural painting at the Canadian
Ambassador Residence Wall in 2015, a group painting at Osu titled “In Memory of
Our Leaders” in 2016, Solo exhibitions at the African Regent Hotel in 2016 and
Accra City Hotel in 2017, the Native Bar and World Bank exhibition in 2019.
Victoria Abena Keta is a graduate from Ghanatta College of Art and
Designs, the University of Education, Winneba, and African University Collage
of Communication where she acquired various certificates. She is married with a
child and works as a graphic designer at Rock Publicity, a graphic design and
publishing company in Accra. She explores her paintings during her free time.
